Hello Dancers,
Thanks again to all the dancers who came out to our dance last Sunday night.
The lesson on Salsa Rueda was great! Thanks Barbara for getting us all
through those basic moves. We want to continue with this but need to find
another time and place. The dance builds on the first basic moves and the
group that starts together needs to stay and learn new moves together. We
have too much weekly turnover to start again each week at the Sunday dance.
If you were a part of the group last week or you want to join in please
email us.

This Sunday we will be teaching basic Country Two Step at 6:30 and a Cha-Cha
move at 7:00. We will continue with Cha-Cha at the second lesson during
March.

The song of the week is a Country Two-Step named "If The Devil Danced (In
Empty Pockets)" It was written by Kim Williams & Ken Spooner and performed
by Joe Diffie. At 172bpm the song is a good lively two step for most levels
of dancers. Click on this Amazon.com site to hear a 30 second sound clip.

How flexible is your dancing?
How well do you maneuver around other dancers? If a couple in front stops
suddenly do you need to stop dancing or can you use an emergency step to
dance around them? If the room gets crowded can you shorten up your WCS or
Hustle slot? When a line dancer moves to the edge of the floor can you keep
dancing in place until they move? There is always a reason to stop, move
around or get out of the way. It's a fact of life in the social dance world.
There are many dancers who have absolutely no idea of how to get out of the
routine that they dance. One pattern always follows the last in the same
order each time. If your dancing become that predictable you need to learn
some new steps and should start with some ways to maneuver around a social
dance floor. You will get more compliments on your dancing by being a smooth
dancer than a flashy dancer who can't help running into everyone else. Lets
all work harder on our social dance skills. And, keep your rock steps to
yourself, we have our own and don't need to share.
