Odds and Ends for this week's dance action in Tidewater

Hello Dancers... From our Weekly Newsletter

Hello Dancers,
Two more weeks of Country Two-Step and then it's Cha-Cha for the entire
month of September. We will continue with the same format and have a basic
lesson each week at 6:30 followed by a more advanced move at 7:00pm.
Cha-Cha starts September 7th.

We had a cooler dance evening last Sunday which was a relief to all the
dancers. Our Two Step move was picked up quickly by the dancers and we
enjoyed the company of several new visitors. We hope they enjoyed our dance
and company.

This is another reminder that our email address has changed to

Our Web Site of the week is the official Elvis Aaron Presley web site found
at http://www.elvis.com Follow the links to a great little music juke box
that plays many of the favorite Elvis hits. Last weekend wrapped up Elvis
week and there is loads of information on the site for those of us who
weren't there.

To accompany the Elvis Web Site the song this week is an Elvis dance
favorite as well. Those who attend our dance know that we like Elvis dance
music. "Fever" is a favorite West Coast Swing at dance events and a special
one for Judy and I as well. Elvis recorded so much music and much of it is
danceable. We have fast and slow Swings, a mambo, rumbas, several waltzes,
a real fast two-step and a polka. We will play many of them for our Sunday
night dancers. Come out and experience some great Elvis dance music.

If you are interested in making your dancing look good try the video route.
But beware, you are in for a shock cause we never look like we think we do.
I hated to look at video tapes of our dancing when Judy and I were
competing cause I looked so bad. I still don't like how I look dancing but
by correcting several bad habits I am improving and have to admit I look
better now. I know many time I wished I could show a couple a video of
their dancing. A picture is worth much more than hours of explanation. Try
it. You might not like it but it will change you dancing forever.

Swing dance contest. Focus mainly on the swing dances:  WEST COAST, EAST
COAST and  LINDY,  but will play other music, as well. Cost is $8.00 and

"DanceSport VA" - Social dance - 8:30 until 10:30pm preceded by an included
