Hello Dancers..
Already February! I thought we just left New Year a few days ago and here
it is Super Bowl Sunday already. We may have a smaller crowd this Sunday
but we are open for those who want to dance. Next year when the Redskins
are playing it may be a different story.
What a night last Sunday. It was too late to call everyone so we drove out
to the studio and so did a few other brave souls. We are glad most of you
stayed away. The roads were terrible that night. We closed up soon after
we started and everyone made it home ok. That was the last Sunday for
Two-Step but if anyone wants to learn the end of the move we were teaching,
We will be happy to show it to you.
This month (February) the schedule is:
6:30 - 7:00 - Salsa Rueda taught by Bob and Marge Gomez
7:00 - 7:30 - Night Club Intermediate move taught by Walter & Judy Schultz
7:30 - 10:00 - Social Dance
ps. For you late arrivals we keep the music going while we clean up for
another 1/2 hr or so.

Margo Hayes had major back surgery yesterday morning. She is recovering at
Riverside Hospital Room 495 in Building "G" - Call, go by, and pray for her
speedy recovery

Bill Beacham was scheduled for lung surgery yesterday morning at Duke
University Medical Center. No word yet on the operation. Please pray for
Bill's speedy recovery.

It's nice to through in a love song now and then and "Always" by Atlantic
Starr is just that and a great NC2 also. Ever since the release in 1987 on
the album "All In the Name of Love " this song is one of the "requested at
wedding" songs. Grab someone special and glide across the floor.

Dance Tip:
Fast or Slow learner?
Not all dancers are fast learners and most of us envy those that can pick
up a new dance or move quickly. For the vast majority of us it's a slow
tedious process. If you are partnered with someone patience helps and
very soon becomes necessary. If learning on your own you just have to take
a move or dance in small enough bites. This is a good thing to remember
when approaching dance lessons. Both you and your teacher like progress.
Try to learn too much and you both get frustrated and progress stops. How
do you know your limit? Just use your common sense. If you don't seem to be
making progress, slow down and change tactics. Ask the instructor to make
you repeat each part over enough that it feels more natural. Remember that
dancing is a "skill acquired through repetition" If you don't it repeat
enough you don't acquire it.
