Odds and Ends for this week's dance action in Tidewater

Hi dancers...

Thanks again to all the friends that came out to our dance party last
Sunday. We made a little more progress in the intermediate Two-Step lesson
and will finish the move this week.

February starts Salsa Rueda from 6:30 to 7:00 taught by Bob and Margie
Gomez followed by Night Club (NC2) taught by Walter & Judy.

Song of the week:
This week we will get a start on the NC2 with a remake of a classic written
and originally performed by Bill  Withers. The song "Ain't no Sunshine" and
covered by Eva Cassidy on her Time after Time album. This version is a
better NC2 than the original that many DJs use.

that I have come across, With the renewed interest in the planet Mars we
are once again looking toward the sky. Click on the link above and you will

This is not a small collection as the earliest one goes back to June 1995.

Body Mechanics:
Next time you go out dancing try to think of what it takes to keep us
upright and moving around the dance floor. Most of the time we take our
bodies for granted and hope they will last as long as we wish. If we think
about how many parts of the body act, react and interact while we are
moving it boggles the mind. God gave us a wonderful ability to be able to
fine tune our motor skills to the point where dancing is a reality. Never
take it for granted as that is when we begin to mistreat this gift.

Our friend Bill is about to face a very serious operation, having a lung
removed on January 28th at Duke University Medical Center. Last October
Bill was diagnosed as having Mesothelioma. Bill has never smoked and
because of that and the operation he has been given a good chance of
survival. In spite of what he faces Bill has retained his sense of humor
and positive outlook as many of you already know. At this time Bill needs
all our prayers and support.
