Thanks again to the large group that comes out dancing with us each week.
Here is the line-up for this weekend:
Friday Night - We are sure to make another of Karter's great social dances. If
you haven't been to one you are missing out on a great evening. He always makes
sure there is lots of food, dancing and fun. This Friday he is teaching another
one of those famous moves from "Dancing with the Stars" The cost is $10.00
and the dance runs from 8-10:30. Great entertainment!
Saturday Night - Judy & I are going to a luau at the PWP dance in the VFW hall
on Bartee street near Military Circle. Dual State is the Band. They start at
9pm. We are going to be giving a dance performance then have a great time for
the remainder of the night.
Sunday night is going to be a great time as we have a holiday the next day.
We are taking advantage of this and staying open an extra hour. For those new to
our Sunday dance this has become a tradition (or maybe an excuse to dance an
extra hour) - Still $5.00 ~~ This Sunday we are teaching beginner Hustle (Three
Count) at 6:30 and then dancing until 11pm.
~~ Sunday 09-11 (Patriot Day) - ECS at 6:30 then dance until 10pm
~~ Sunday 09-18 - Rumba at 6:30 then dance until 10pm
~~ Sunday 09-25 - Beginner WCS at 6:30 then dance until 10pm
We are hosting one Saturday night dance on September 17th. It will be a combined
C&W (Couples, Partner & Line) and Swing dance.
Our Group Classes were announced earlier and are on Wednesdays
7-8 - Bronze American Cha-Cha
8-9 - Beginner Level 2 - Country Two-Step

Ruritan club invites you to join us in Driver, Va for a Baked Ham Dinner on
September 10th. The menu is Baked Ham, Green Beans, Potato Salad, Rolls. The

Improve your social skills through dancing
When asked to list the benefits of dancing most folks list: 1) exercise, 2) improved motor skills, 3) improved coordination, and 3) learning more about music and timing.
One important benefit that is usually overlooked is how we gain confidence in interacting with others.
Think about how you felt toward attending a large social event prior to becoming a dancer and how you feel about it now. Although some people have always been comfortable in most settings, becoming a dancer gives others much more confidence in dealing with people at social events.
Now when you talk to others about social dancing this should be the first
thing mentioned. Social dancing improves social skills.

~~ Every Sunday - Roberto is USUALLY (Click to check it out - sometimes they cancel) at Langley AFB in Hampton VA - or the Ft. Monroe Club in Hampton VA, for a Champagne-Brunch-dance. Some fantastic deal! You pay for the dancing, and they give you the brunch and champagne for free.... You can dance off the meal, and there will still be plenty of time to get from the buffet to our regular Sunday Two Step Tidewater Dance. So, if you can get on the bases, treat your lady once-in-a-while.
