Words of advice and a puzzle.
"Skill comes by the constant repetition of familiar feats rather than by a
few overbold attempts at feats for which the performer is yet poorly
prepared"
It sound like good advice on obtaining skill. The question is who am I quoting?

Judy and I just returned from the Easterns, a great C/W and swing event held
each year at Tyson's Corner. This quotation was in some material I was reading
one night. It reminded me of when we were competing. We would always remind
ourselves to remember this and that when we were on the floor. Well, it never
worked. When we finished the routine we had no recollection of what happened.
When performing, you are so focused on so much you need to rely on skills that
are ingrained by countless hours of practice. We favor social dancing now but
the rules of learning are the same.
